#MarchMeetTheMaker ~ challenge 13 ~ Work Clothes…
One of the great things about working for yourself is that you can wear whatever you like.
As a young girl I used to love dressing up, then my first job was working for British Vogue magazine.
So clothes and fashion are in my blood, but I don’t like to actually follow a specific fashion.
I just love following my instinct and buying one-off, quirky items, usually teamed with Top Shop jeans which I live in.
I guess like a lot of people, especially women, I juggle many roles so my wardrobe is an eclectic mix of different outfits.
Ranging from glamorous full-length evening dresses for events, to the shamanic-hippy clothes I wear to priestess at ceremonies, to my favourite black biker boots & jacket.
It also depends on what country I’m visiting on my buying trips – from jeans & Ts in New Mexico to fully covered with headscarf in Morocco, out of respect for their culture.
Colour is really important to me, in my clothes, the interior design of my house and shop, the products I design and my artwork.
I tend to either wear black and grey, or turquoise/pink with denim. I avoid browns/oranges/yellows completely.
And I love wearing tops like this with words or phrases that inspire me.
This ‘New York’ top always makes me feel excited about going on a business trip to New York.
I’m not a fashion snob – I don’t care where my clothes come from or how little they cost – as long as they make me feel good when I wear them.
I’ve bought a lot of my priestess clothes in charity shops…they’re great for unique items, especially those in Glastonbury where I live, because anything goes here, which is one of the things I love about living here.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings about clothes and colour – I would love your help with something.
I’m designing a new range of products and it would really help me to know: what is your favourite colour/s to wear?
Thank you 🙏
