Description
A unique and stunning Corn Maiden Necklace made from Mother of Pearl with Turquoise, Jet, Coral and Shell by the world-renowned Sandra Quandelacy from Zuni Pueblo, New Mexico
This breath-taking piece is carved on both sides, one side with the Corn Maiden and the other side with the Harvest Mother and her Corn Maiden child. The necklace embodies the myth of the Harvest Mother and Daughter which is one of the most ancient myths symbolised in the oldest freestanding temples in the world on Gozo, Malta, where Annabel Du Boulay’s novel The Serpent’s Tale begins and ends.
The pendant itself measures 8cmL x 4cmW x 1.5cmD and weighs 40g. It hangs on a 26cm long shell necklace with a 10cm adjustable chain-clasp so the length of the necklace can be adjusted from a minimum 34cm to a maximum 43cm drop. The necklace is reversible so the owner can choose to display either the Corn Maiden or the Harvest Mother and Corn Maiden Child.
Our Zuni Black Mother of Pearl Corn Maiden Earrings are a perfect match for this necklace – see separate listing.
