Description
These exquisite bells are handmade by a Kutchi family in the desert region of western India using an ancient technique of bell-making passed down to them through generations.
The bells are formed from sheets of recycled steel, beaten into shape by hand then dipped in copper. Women make a dough that they pat around the bells before burying them under the hot desert sand in a kiln. The heat anneals the metals, welding them into bronze and giving each piece its unique patina.
After firing, each bell is individually hand-tuned using an age-old technique so that each one is completely unique in appearance and sound.
We use these beautiful bells in The Avalon Rose Chapel® for space clearing, ceremony and meditation.
