Yesterday was one of the most intense and profound days of my life. The weaving of threads and energies is off the scale. It is almost impossible to put into words but I will try…
My daughter Sophia Mary is the same age (20) as I was when I first came to Southern Italy and was initiated onto the path of the Black Madonna.
Her birth with a life-threatening syndrome and multiple disabilities was the vehicle through which the Black Goddess Sophia-Mary-Magdalene repeatedly initiated us through the darkness of Her cave of suffering, pain, fear and anger, back into the light of Her love, compassion, strength and wisdom.
When Sophia was born in 1999 (the beginning of the current 22 Year Sirius-Rose Cycle which will complete in 2021), I began writing my historical novel The Serpent’s Tale, set in Southern Italy at the time of the witchburnings, which reclaims the ancient, pagan tradition of the Black Goddess, the Rose Lineage.
10 years later, I published The Serpent’s Tale in 2009, when my disabled Sirian son Zac was born, who initiated all of us into an even deeper Sophianic descent by holding us on the bridge between life and death for years.
Now 10 years later, I am here in Southern Italy on Alessandra Belloni’s Pilgrimage of the Black Madonna to celebrate the last 20 years journey with the Black Goddess and with my daughter Sophia Mary before she leaves home in September.
The events of The Serpent’s Tale happen over the sacred 7 days from 11 August 1583, the exact same time period that we are on pilgrimage, and are inspired by the ancient Harvest Myth of Demeter and Persephone.
Yesterday, we went on pilgrimage to the Black Madonna of Tindari in Sicily, whose sanctuary is built upon the ancient Temple of Ceres-Demeter.
The inscription below Her statue is ‘Nigra Sum Sed Formosa’ – ‘I am Black and Beautiful’ from Solomon’s Song of Songs which we study during my Priestess of Sophia-Magdalene Training.
Then we visited the enchanted lake of salt water at the foot of Her mountain where Her statue was found in a cave. It is one of the most profoundly magical portals I have ever visited.
As we stepped into the warm, dark waters beneath an almost Full Moon, it was literally like returning to the Womb-Tomb of the Mother.
And we did this in the final few hours of Venus’s descent into the deepest, darkest point of Her underworld journey which I’ve been walking with my Rose Moon Membership since Her cycle of descent and ascent began on 1 January.
As I cradled my beautiful girl in my arms, the enormity of the last 20 year’s journey flowed through my tears into the salt waters of the Black Goddess.
There are no words to describe those moments together in the dark Womb of the Mother. I could have stayed there forever.
